Year 2

January 17th, 2018

Well done to Flamingo, Salmon and Fuschia classes this week for their recall of members of the family and for using mon, ma and mes in the correct context. Some children were able to use adjectives to describe a member of their family.

Year 1

January 9th, 2018

Year 1 have been repeating numbers 0-5. By the end of the lesson some children were able to recall and recognise numbers at random. Well Done Year 1!

Christmas activities

December 13th, 2017

Years 1 and 2 have been learning about Christmas in France and comparing it to Christmas in England. Year 2 made French Christmas cards and Year 1 practised a French finger rhyme called Le Petit Sapin.

Year 3 practised some new language to help them write a letter to Pere Noel.

Year 6

December 5th, 2017

This week year 6 have been translating different types of text: a poem, a description and instructions. Most children were able translate the text without using a dictionary. Well done! Another child in Year 6 was given the job of using a bilingual dictionary to translate words from French to English and English to French. She was able to work independently and use the dictionary correctly.

Prepositions Year 5

November 29th, 2017

Year 5 have been learning prepositions over the past few weeks. They have learnt a song to help them remember: sur, sous, dans, devant, derriere and a cote de. This week they used wrote independent sentences to describe pictures, e.g Le chat est sous la chaise. Well done Year 5!

Autumn Term

November 21st, 2017

Owing to a technical issue I have been unable to post on my blog for a while! The Autumn term has been very busy so far! Year 1 have just started learning French and are enjoying their weekly lessons. So far, we have learnt Greetings and colours. Year 6 have been learning all about the rooms in the house and some of their work is on display in the corridor. Now we are up and running again, I’ll keep you posted about our learning.

Year 5 Weather

Well done to 5M. I was really impressed with the weather reports.  You were able to use your knowledge of types of weather and places in France to give a short weather report. Here is an example of a report given;

Year 4 Landmark Research

In year 4 we have been discussing Landmarks both in England and France. We used the iPads to conduct research into Famous French Landmarks. We found out some interesting facts, especially about The Arc De Triomphe!
